However, a dip in form for the Belgian along with a return to the Gunners’ first XI for the Frenchman results in the latter claiming a spot.

Koscielny has proved the perfect partner to Mertesacker in the Arsenal back line, providing covering pace and superb man marking, and an underrated comfort on the ball.
