Sandro (Tottenham)
The Brazilian enforcer was a formidable presence for Tottenham until a nasty knee injury curtailed his season in January. For all his willing running, Scott Parker does not look in the same class as Sandro and the Selecao star will be sorely missed by Spurs on Sunday.
Santi Cazorla (Arsenal)
What a signing this man has been! The Spaniard wasted no time in making himself an indispensable part of Arsene Wenger’s team after his arrival in the summer and has chipped with an impressive 11 league goals, including some real stunners.
Jack Wilshere (Arsenal)
The classy pass-master returned from 18 months out in November and has looked like he’s never been away. During the Gunners recent domestic and European struggles, the 20-year-old has been a shining light and looks to have a huge future ahead of him. A future Gunners and England captain in the making.
Theo Walcott (Arsenal)
The flying forward looks like a different player this season, although he’ll be miffed that we’ve stuck him out on the right wing rather than as a central striker. Walcott has showed signs that he could develop into a lethal front-man for both the Gunners and England and now his contract saga is sorted, he can concentrate on firing Arsenal to glory.
Gareth Bale (Tottenham)
Perhaps the stand-out player of this season’s Premier League, the Welshman enjoyed an incredible February in particular that has seen him compare to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. He’s capable of scoring anywhere in the final third and looks increasingly dangerous now he’s moved off the left-wing into a central role. Bale has 15 Premier League goals already and that figure is only like to increase before the end of the season.
Jermain Defoe (Tottenham)
The diminutive forward narrowly pips Olivier Giroud to the spot as central striker. Defoe has significantly improved his built-up play under AVB and suddenly looks capable and happy leading the line alone. The England international still needs about 10 shots to score but we’ll forgive him, because he often chips in with an absolute cracker.
