Emmanuel Adebayor vs Per Mertesacker
With two goals to his name all season, it’s fair to say that Emmanuel Adebayor is hardly one of the form strikers in the Premier League this term. Indeed, the former Gunners man has looked wholly disinterested both prior to and since his sojourn at the African Cup of Nations. But it’s no exaggeration to say that Adebayor was more fired up in his 17 minutes at the Emirates Stadium in November than he has been in the rest of the campaign combined, so expect a decent display from the 29-year-old.
Mertesacker has finally started to look like a Premier League centre-half this season but the German is still prone to woeful lapses in concentration, which inevitably lead to goals. If Adebayor can put the lanky defender under some pressure on Sunday, expect positive results for the home side.
Advantage: Spurs
