Spurs will move for FC Basel midfielder Mohamed Salah…
Tottenham will move for Swiss side FC Basel’s talented Egyptian singer Mohamed Salah when the transfer window reopens in January, reports the Metro.
The winger could be available for around £7m, although FC Basel will be desperate to keep hold of their best player.
Spurs boss Andre Vilas-Boas spent £108m in the summer on a wealth of impressive attacking talent, but his chairman Daniel Levy has promised him he can spend more, following the world record £85m sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid.
AVB has earmarked the 21-year-old flyer as a top target, after his brilliant performances against English opposition at the end of last season, and the beginning of this one.
Salah was the best player over two legs as FC Basel put out Spurs in the Europa League last season, and he shone again in his side’s 2-1 surprise victory against Chelsea on Wednesday evening in the Champions League.
The young winger has extraordinary pace, but has the technical ability and trickery to keep the ball and recycle possession in tight spaces. If a move were to materialise, Salah would compete with Nacer Chadli, Erik Lamela, Aaron Lennon, Glyfi Sigurdsson and Christian Eriksen for a first-team spot.
