Scott Parker is close to a move to Championship side QPR to rejoin Harry Redknapp…
Tottenham’s 32-year-old holding midfielder Scott Parker is close to a £3.5m move to Championship side QPR, to reunite with former boss Harry Redknapp, reports the Telegraph.
The deal for the former Premier League Player of the Year could be complete in the next 48 hours, so Parker will be registered in time for QPR’s Championship match against Ipswich Town at the weekend.
“We’re hopeful of getting Scotty signed soon. He’s a great lad and will be a really good signing for us,” said Harry Redknapp, the former Tottenham and current QPR boss.
Redkapp snapped up the Englishman from West Ham in August 2011, and although he has done well for Spurs, the big money arrivals of Brazilian Paulinho and Frenchman Etienne Capoue this summer mean that Parker would struggle for game time if he stayed at White Harte Lane.
Parker’s battling nature should suit the Championship, and the 32-year-old could play a vital role in winning QPR immediate promotion back to the Premier League.
Parker has played for an array of London clubs during a solid career, including Charlton Athletic, Chelsea, West Ham, Tottenham and imminently, QPR.
