The 31-year-old Tottenham striker was speaking at his first conference since his £6m move to the Canadian MLS outfit was announced last week.
Defoe is not due to officially join Toronto until 28 February and the England international striker must be hoping the supporters can forget about his foolish blunder before the return of MLS in March.
The former West Ham and Portsmouth striker will reportedly earn a staggering £90,000-a-week with Ryan Nelsen’s side, making him the best paid player in MLS history, ahead of both Thierry Henry and David Beckham.
