The France captain insisted he should not go off despite doctors saying otherwise.
In what was a fairly uninspiring 0-0 draw between Everton and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, there was nine minutes of extra-time after Romelu Lukaku and Hugo Lloris clashed.
As the goalkeeper rushed out to claim the oncoming ball, the Frenchman’s head collided with Lukaku’s knee and left the 26-year-old sprawled on the floor for some time.
The striker was taken off due to the incident, but Lloris protested that the stopper must stay on the pitch, despite Spurs’ medical team wanting the ‘keeper to be substituted for Brad Friedel.
The France international’s actions have had a mixed reception on Twitter.

Will Hugo Lloris milk that head injury and wear a scrum cap like that baby from Stamford Bridge?

Lloris may have a bit of a headache tonight after the incident, but questions will be raised over whether a player with suspected concussion should make the decision as to if they can play on or not.
