The bookies are backing United to make a double raid on Dortmund and finally secure the services of long-term defensive target Mats Hummels – a World Cup winner with Germany in 2014.
Hummels has been less clear than teammate Gundogan about his future at the Westfalenstadion and so Van Gaal has been forced to explore other options. But this deal is clearly not dead.
