Manchester United are reportedly keen to sign Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain, with the Metro claiming that Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal sees the former Real Madrid star as a perfect replacement for Robin van Persie.
Van Persie is expected to leave Old Trafford for Fenerbahce this summer, leaving captain Wayne Rooney as the only senior striker at United.
Rooney was United’s leading goalscorer last season, but he only netted 12 times in the Premier League, so reinforcements are very much needed.
Higuain is one option – although there are many others.

The bookmakers seem to think that Higuain to United is very possible.
skyBET make United the favourites to sign the player, who is 5/2 to be at Old Trafford when the transfer window closes in September.
However, Arsenal are only just behind United in the betting – at 11/4.
