Borussia Dortmund have issued a fresh hands off warning to Arsenal over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners are understood to be considering a swoop for the £30m-rated striker, who was the German club’s top scorer last season with 23 goals in all competitions.
But sporting director Michael Zorc has reiterated that Aubameyang is not for sale, admitting that Dortmund are reliant on the rapid Gabon international and cannot afford to lose him.
He is quoted by The Mirror as saying: “We rely heavily on Aubameyang – that is no secret.
“I’ve heard a lot about this (a transfer to Arsenal) but I can say very clearly that it is blocked for him. He is simply not for sale.”
Zorc had previously stressed to the 26-year-old’s suitors: “Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a player of Borussia Dortmund and we do not have any plan to sell him. That’s a fact.”
Arsenal have also been heavily linked with Real Madrid frontman Karim Benzema as Arsene Wenger apparently seeks competition for first-choice striker Olivier Giroud.
