Manchester United’s hopes of signing Barcelona forward Pedro are increasing with every day.
SkyBet slashed the odds on the World Cup winner moving to Old Trafford this summer to 1/6 on Tuesday amid reports that he could soon complete a £23m switch to the Premier League giants.
Now Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claims that the La Liga champions have entered the market for a replacement, and will try to re-sign Nolito from Celta Vigo if they lose Pedro.
Nolito left the Camp Nou for Benfica in 2011 before being signed by now-Barcelona manager Luis Enrique at Celta two years later. He is reportedly available at a buy-back price of £12.75m.
The 28-year-old has scored 27 goals in two seasons at Celta and is contracted at the Estadio Municipal de Balaidos until 2019.
He would not be eligible to play for Barca until January because of their transfer embargo and could be loaned back to Eduardo Berizzo’s side.
