Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has insisted that Arda Turan is not available for loan during the first half of the upcoming season.
The Turkey international winger joined Barca from Atletico Madrid earlier this month despite the La Liga champions being under a transfer embargo.
Under the terms of the ban, Barca are not allowed to register Turan, or fellow new arrival Aleix Vidal, until January or play either of them in friendlies.
Newly-elected club president Josep Maria Bartomeu had hinted that Turan could be loaned out for the remainder of 2015 to get match time, but Enrique wants the 28-year-old to stay in Catalonia.
“He (Turan) cannot play until January and that does not favour us, but I want him with us until then,” he told Marca. “The loan of Arda Turan is not being contemplated, nor will it be contemplated.”
Manchester United and Chelsea had both been linked heavily with Turan before he completed his move to the Camp Nou and might have explored the possibility of signing him temporarily.
