Turkish side Galatasaray are reportedly lining up a shock bid for Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
According to The Mirror, Galatasaray officials have made contact with the North London club over the attacker’s availability and are keen to lure the English international to the Turk Telecom Arena.
Oxlade-Chamberlain still has three years left to run on his current deal with Arsenal, and it would take a mega transfer fee for the Gunners to even consider allowing the 22-year-old to leave the club.
The report claims a French agent has been brought in to attempt broker a deal, but it’s hard to see Arsene Wenger allowing one of his most prized assets to depart the Emirates.
Should Oxlade-Chamberlain make the unlikely move to Istanbul, he would join the likes of Robin van Persie, Lukas Podolski and Nani as Premier League players to has recently signed deals to play in the Turkish Super Lig.
It remains to be seen what kind of offer Galatasaray can conjure up, but the move looks unlikely at this stage.
