Ferdinand was fortunate not to be sent off at the Emirates Stadium.
Queens Park Rangers central defender Rio Ferdinand has apologised after appearing to strangle Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud during Rangers’ 2-1 defeat to the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium today. Giroud was sent off after headbutting Ferdinand’s teammate Armand Traore, but the former England international was fortunate not to following the Frenchman off the field.
