Los Angeles Clippers vs San Antonio Spurs Game 5: NBA Playoffs preview and prediction
Although the Rockets players were gracious winners by all accounts, their official team Twitter account left a smudge on the team’s reputation with a cruel tweet.
This happened shortly before the Rockets sealed their victory, and the tweet consisted of a gun emoji pointing at a horse emoji, which is supposed to represent the Mavericks mascot.
Although the tweet has been deleted, it can be seen here. The Mavericks Twitter account responded to the Rockets, calling them out for showing a lack of class.
@HoustonRockets Not very classy but we still wish you guys the best of luck in the next round.

The Rockets account backtracked from its emoji-filled taunt at the Mavericks shortly after and went on to apologize for its ill-timed jab.
Our Tweet earlier was in very poor taste & not indicative of the respect we have for the @dallasmavs & their fans. We sincerely apologize.

Even with that apology though, that tweet was sure to rub salt in the wounds for any Mavericks fan and player who had seen that tweet.
Time will tell whether the Rockets will be laughing after their next series against either the Los Angeles Clippers or San Antonio Spurs.
