The Champions League tie has taken a difficult turn for the Gunners.
In perhaps the most highly anticipated fixture of the Champions League last-16 Arsenal take on reigning champions Bayern Munich.
Things looked good early on for the Gunners who pressed the Bundesliga giants and won a penalty when Mesut Ozil was brought down by Jerome Boateng.
However, the resulting spot-kick from the attacking midfielder was weak and easily saved by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Then things got even worse for the hosts when the defence failed to track a run from Arjen Robben and Wojciech Szczesny brought down the Dutchman to give away another penalty and receive a red card.
As expected Twitter erupted when this potentially game changing event happened, mostly on the subject of former Chelsea and Real Madrid ace Robben.
Booing Robben for being taken out by a goalkeeper who is subsequently sent off by the referee?… #deluded

I disagree with the red, hardly made contact, turned away from Robben. Penalty and yellow would have been fine.

I have to admire Arjen Robben’s courage. To get up and carry on after being shot down at close range with a sawn-off shotgun is very brave. — Mikey Delap (@MikeyDelap) February 19, 2014
I do hate Robben he suffers from the same diving issues as Tom Daley & Ashley Young!!

When ever has Robben needed any help hitting the floor?! A slight breeze and he strives for a perfect 10. Tonight was no exception!
