Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant became impossible to ignore as he was called up by the Cubs after hitting three home runs in Triple-A Iowa.
He had previously hit nine home runs with a .425 batting average in spring training, but the Cubs demoted him to the minors to give him another year on his rookie contract.
Despite his domination of the minor leagues, Bryant is quickly learning that the majors is much tougher as his big league debut was a harsh reality check.
Bryant struck out in all of his first three at-bats and grounded out in his fourth one, but Twitter still blew up as he made his debut and Cubs fans were extremely excited to see him on the field.
Here are a few of these tweets, including some humorous takes on Bryant’s debut.
