Despite his impressive form over the past couple of years, no-one quite expected Jordan Spieth to play Augusta quite in the way he has. The Texan has set a seemingly impossible benchmark at the halfway point, shooting fourteen under par, and maintaining a comfortable lead over his rivals.

In fact, the 21-year-old’s performance has been so strong that he has already been breaking records at the historic course in Georgia.
His current total is now the lowest 36-hole score at the Masters, beating Raymond Floyd’s thirty-nine year record by one shot. Promisingly for Spieth, the now 72-year-old would go onto win the green jacket that year by eight shots from Ben Crenshaw – who coincidentally is playing in his 44th and final Masters this year.
The 2014 Ryder Cup rookie has also added his name to a list of three other players – Nick Faldo, Martin Kaymer, and Brandt Snedeker – for shooting the joint-best score at the halfway point in any major. Only his countryman Snedeker failed to go on and win the tournament.
