Sepp Blatter holds off Prince Ali in FIFA presidential election, gets elected to 5th term
He defeated Prince Ali with 133 votes to gain his fifth term after Prince Ali conceded the election.
Blatter insists that he is not responsible for these scandals and pointed out that he cannot be around for everything at once.
U.S. officials have recently been arrested on charges of accepting bribes worth more than $100 million, and two FIFA vice presidents were among those who were arrested.
However, Blatter does not have everybody on his side, as being the president will inevitably cause people to criticize and accuse you of being at the center of corruption scandals like the ones happening right now.
Twitter has begun to blow up in wake of Blatter’s re-election, and the reactions have been mixed, as they range from angry to humorous.
Here are a few of these tweets.
