Twitter reacts to Sepp Blatter’s re-election as FIFA president
In the aftermath of the resignation of one of the most reviled leaders of FIFA, social media is abuzz with a combination of joy and laughs at finally seeing Sepp Blatter resign.
At around 6:30 in Zurich, Switzerland, Blatter – who had won re-election to a fifth term as President of FIFA – announced his resignation, which will take effect in a few short months.
Some saw the resignation as liberating and the end of a borderline-tyrannical rule as FIFA’s President:

Others took the opportunity to poke a little fun at Blatter’s expense while also pointing out that it was HBO’s Last Week Tonight host John Oliver that encouraged public pressure to make Blatter resign.

No doubt John Oliver, who promised to drink Bud Light Lime and call it delicious, will be at the center of attention this weekend.
