The US embassy in Kabul seemed to get a tad overexcited during Afghanistan’s Cricket World Cup clash with Bangladesh, tweeting its congratulations to the debutants on a fine victory.
Apart from the fact Afghanistan actually lost by 105 runs, the Americans actually posted the Tweet after just 10 overs in Bangladesh’s opening innings.
“Congratulations Afghanistan for their win over Bangladesh in the Cricket World Cup,” the US Embassy tweeted.

It triggered an apologetic response after they received a mountain of backlash from Afghani’s.
