Giant Belgian looks like nearing the end of his Everton career.
Key Everton midfield player Marouane Fellaini may be set to depart the club at the end of the season after pulling out of a scheduled autograph signing session with Toffee supporters on Monday, reports the Daily Telegraph.
The Belgian’s no-show came in the aftermath of the Merseysiders’ shock 3-0 loss to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup last eight at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon, during which Fellaini was booed by some sections of the Everton faithful.
The big-haired Belgium international reportedly has a £23 million release clause in his contract that can be activated by any potential suitor that is also competing in the Champions League, while his current weekly wage packet of £75,000 would also not be a problem for any of the Premier League’s Champions League clubs to better.
And, with the player at present going through a lean spell at Everton, especially since the turn of the year, now may be the right time for both parties to go their separate ways.
