Having had relatively unsuccessful spells in the English top tier with three different sides it was hardly groundbreaking when the Tigers paid Birmingham City £2.5m for Davies.

Yet now he is captain of the side and one of the principle reasons Hull have kept nine clean-sheets this campaign and sit 12th in the table currently.
