4) Thomas Vermaelen (Arsenal)
Despite still being club captain, Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has been out of the first-team picture at the Emirates Stadium for over a year now after losing his place for a poor run of form. The Belgian international will surely be available for the right price this summer, with recent rumours that Manchester United could be in for him. Although Arsenal will be reluctant to sell the 28-year-old to a direct rival, the player himself would definitely benefit from a switch to a new club after seemingly going stale in north London. Once regarded as one of the most solid centre-backs in the Premier League, as well as a good source of goals from the back, Vermaelen could surely prove a good signing for a number of top European clubs this summer.
