The overall value of the transfer is now £80m.
Real Madrid are still keen on signing David de Gea as a long-term replacement for captain Iker Casillas and if that were to happen Manchester United want Gareth Bale in return.

Manchester United expected to beat Chelsea to £150m Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.
According to CaughtOffside, whilst this swap deal was originally valued at £100m it has now dropped to £80m, with de Gea making up half of the overall cost.
In essence Madrid would be paying £40m for the goalkeeper, whilst United would land Bale for £80m – but only actually have to outlay half of the money.
With Victor Valdes having signed for the Red Devils on a free transfer earlier this month they have a ready-made replacement for de Gea already at Old Trafford – although must would agree that would be a step down.
As for Los Blancos, whether they would actually want to part with Bale after he has scored 35 goals in 71 appearances since a £85.3m 2013 transfer – including strikes in the Copa del Rey and Champions League final last season – is another matter.
If they were to part with their world record signing though they would want to recoup the majority of the outlay they paid for him less than two years ago and now the only question is how much they actually want to sign de Gea.
