Fabrizio Romano, a trusted Italian journalist who works for Sky Italy and Calciomercato, tweeted that Liverpool has already contacted Ancelotti and he has refused. He continues to want a year off after being surprisingly sacked from Real Madrid this week.
#Liverpool had a contact with #Ancelotti some days ago, when Real decided to fire him. But Carlo replied he wants to stop for a year. #LFC

Ancelotti’s past as a manager is one that can’t be beat by many. He has managed AC Milan and Real Madrid-winning the Champions League with both, as well as winning the Premier League title while managing Chelsea. The high-caliber manager could be wanted by many clubs, but he has continued to insist that he wants a year off of football.
It has also been reported by Sky that Rodgers will not be sacked, which is hard to believe since Liverpool has already approached Ancelotti. German publication Bild also reported that Jurgen Klopp is in line to take the Liverpool job.
It looks like Rodgers has something to be nervous about these upcoming weeks.
