Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel admitted he doesn’t know where he’s going on loan next season.
According to Chronicle Live, the 22-year-old Dutch midfielder is being targeted by a new loan spell, this time with Sunderland after spending last season on loan to AC Milan.
Van Ginkel made 17 appearances for the Serie A giants last season and scored a goal but dealt with numerous injuries throughout the season. Now healthy, van Ginkel said that he’s dealing with the uncertainty of being loaned out again.
“Of course it’s strange that I do not know where I will play [at the end of] next month,” van Ginkel said in an interview. “But that’s part of football. Nothing is certain at this time.”
The Blues acquired van Ginkel in the 2013 summer transfer window for what was reportedly a £8 million fee. But van Ginkel only played in two games for Chelsea during that season and was loaned out the following year.
