Huge crash on final corner leaves cars scattered on track and fans injured in the stands.
Heading into the final turn, fiver drivers had the chance to win, as they bunched up ready to find the best slipstream heading into the straight.
All it took was a touch, but the race ended in a mess and chaos as Kyle Larson – in his first race in NASCAR – went airborne and into the fence, as Tony Stewart snuck through to take the chequered flag.
With so many cars on a small piece of tarmac, crashes like this are inevitable. When debris and pieces of car hit fans who are just feet away, changes must be made.
Either move the fans back, or make the track wider, only then will these kind of accidents be a rare occasion.
