Indianapolis Colts running back Vick Ballard suffered a torn Achilles tendon, and he is expected to be out for the season.
Indianapolis Colts running back Vick Ballard was carted off the field after suffering what looked like an ankle injury, and the news turned out to be even worse when it was revealed he has a torn Achilles. This is expected to keep him out for the entire 2014 season.
Ian Rapoport, NFL Media Insider, tweeted about Ballard’s injury and expects his season to end.
Colts RB Vick Ballard has torn his Achilles, source says. Brutal. Looking at another lost season

Ballard has been unable to catch a break since his solid rookie season in 2012, which included 814 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The running back was forced to sit out the 2013 season with a torn ACL that he suffered in Week 2.
Trent Richardson is also reportedly sitting out of the Colts’ practice, which leaves Ahmad Bradshaw as the only experienced running back left on the team.
Richardson is expected to bounce back from his abysmal 2013 season after a full offseason of learning the Colts’ playbook, and Bradshaw will likely receive significant carries as well. Ballard going down will still hurt the Colts’ running back depth though.
