Brendon McCullum may have been at the centre of a verbal barrage against Australia in the Cricket World Cup final, but maybe the best sledge he received was from a journalist.

During the post-match press conference, McCullum asked a vertically-challenged Kiwi reporter to “stand up” so he could see him.
The journalist, well-aware of McCullum’s own lack of height, told the New Zealand skipper his comment was “a bit rich”, resulting in a roar of laughter from the rest of the media gallery.
McCullum himself saw the funny side of it, breaking out into a giggle:
It was the biggest smile seen from the Kiwi star all day after his side were beaten by seven wickets in front of 93,000 fans at the MCG.
McCullum himself didn’t have the greatest of days after being bowled out for a duck following a brilliant inswinging yorker by Australia quick Mitchell Starc:
