Broner went into the fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena as a heavy favourite, and he didn’t disappoint as he used his superior boxing skills to his advantage with a comfortable win over his opponent.
Molina did threaten to get into the bout at times as he tried to engage the American and threw big shots, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough as his rival used his footwork to evade much of his work while pot-shotting in return and catching the eye of the judges.
While Molina did promise a war, the fight failed to live up to expectations, but as Broner noted in his post-fight interview, the last time he tried to give the fans what they wanted he ended up losing to Marcos Maidana.
With the win under his belt, he spent much of the final few rounds trying to move around and deny Molina any opportunity to catch him and ultimately it was one-way traffic for much of the bout.
As a result, it was job done for ‘The Problem’ as he now looks forward to bigger and better fights in the future while Molina will now have to go back and rebuild.
