Franklin clashed heads with teammate Gary Rohan during the Swans’ six-point NAB Challenge win over GWS Giants and was taken off the field via a medicab.
Despite the big hit, Sydney Swans general manager Tom Harley said he expected Franklin to feature against the Bombers in round one.
“Buddy’s good, it was obviously a pretty hectic day for the club yesterday, and a really heavy head clash,” Harley is quoted as saying by AFL.com.au.
“He flew back with the team, he’s had a good night’s sleep, and it is a pretty heavy concussion but he’ll be fine.”
“(He has) no facial injuries whatsoever.”
