De Boer and Co return to top of the table thanks to easy home win.
Ajax returned to the top of the Eredivisie standings on Sunday thanks to a comprehensive 4-0 rout of Heracles at the Amsterdam ArenA – despite having to play the majority of the second half with only ten men.
Frank de Boer’s side took an early lead through Lasse Schone, but that was pretty much the only action of note in the first period.
Things hotted up after the break though when home goalkeeper Kenneth Vemeer was sent off following a foul on Geoffery Castillion.
However, despite their numerical disadvantage, Ajax continued to attack, scoring three more times through Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, Ryan Babel and a stunning final strike from Dane Christian Eriksen.
