Inter the happier of the two teams.
AC Milan and Inter Milan fought out a 1-1 draw in the Milanese derby at San Siro in Serie A on Sunday night.
Milan dominated the first half and took the lead through Stephen El Shaarawy in the 21st minute, but Inter responded after the break and substitute Ezequiel Schelotto equalised in the 71st.
“We had great opportunity to close out the match in the first half , but (Inter goalkeeper, Samir) Handanovic did great to save the goal (Balotelli’s header). We are happy with the match and so have to keep going this way,” said El Shaarawy after the match.
“On the pitch I do my best to help Milan. We have other great strikers in the squad like (Giampaolo) Pazzini who’s scored ten goals and Mario (Balotelli) who’s scored three or four in the last four matches. So this is the high standard needed to be high in Serie A.”
Meanwhile, Inter’s Schelotto was delighted that his late goal warned his side a point, saying: “It’s great for me to get on the pitch and score. I thank the coach for this opportunity. I’ll never forget this goal.”
