Khan could feature on the undercard in Vegas.
With Floyd Mayweather opting to face Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand on May 3, Amir Khan has revealed his disappointment over the situation but hasn’t given up hope of a future bout.
The 27-year-old has recently revealed that he feels much more comfortable at 147lbs, but is still disappointed to have missed out on a clash with Mayweather.
Despite claims he won the Twitter poll which asked the fans who the American’s next opponent should be, Maidana was chosen instead after his win over Adrien Broner, leaving Khan with a lengthy spell of inactivity.
He still believes that he has the style to become the first man to beat Mayweather, while he revealed that in a private conversation with his rival they agreed that they would eventually meet in the ring.
However, Khan is now exploring his options with suggestions that he will feature on the undercard on May 3, with Luis Collazo and Robert Guerrero touted as two possible opponents.
Khan revealed that he will likely have an announcement in the next few days, as it remains to be seen what step he takes next with that fight with Mayweather still firmly his ultimate goal.
