However, the spotlight was stolen from the title holder as Joshua came face-to-face with rival Dillian Whyte again and the pair exchanged some more angry words.
The two Brits clashed at the press conference on Thursday, and tempers flared once again on Friday as they prepare for separate fights.
Joshua faces Cornish in the main event while Whyte takes on Brian Minto on the undercard, and should both men win they will face each other in a highly anticipated grudge match in London on December 12.
The altercations threaten to distract both fighters from the task at hand this weekend, but they know the prize on offer if they come through and both will be desperate to claim the win at the O2.
Nevertheless, it appeared as though Whyte was ready for fight night with Joshua earlier than scheduled as he wanted to settle their differences at the weigh in. Whether or not this is all for the cameras to build up interest is irrelevant, as these two genuinely don’t like each other.
