The Gunners secured a 2-1 win over Everton on Saturday evening which in turn helped them leapfrog Manchester City into top spot.
While that can change tomorrow following the Manchester derby, Wenger is pleased with what he has seen from his players in recent weeks as they recorded their fourth straight win.
Goals from Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny saw off Roberto Martinez’s men, despite Ross Barkley’s deflected effort causing concern just minutes before half time as well as Petr Cech being forced into making a crucial stop to deny Gerard Deulofeu late on.
Nevertheless, it caps a remarkable turnaround for the Gunners after they saw their pre-season optimism shattered following that 2-0 defeat to West Ham on August 9.
While Slaven Bilic’s side have gone on to prove that the result was no fluke given their wins over the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea since, Wenger will be thrilled with how his players have recovered mentally after suffering such a setback to their Premier League title hopes as soon as the season had begun.
Arsenal face Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night, before they return to Premier League action when they make the trip to Wales to face Swansea next weekend.
