Arsene Wenger was robbed of more than just points in Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Chelsea, but he’s going to turn the other cheek.
In spite of a controversial red card given to Gabriel Paulista at the end of the first half of Saturday’s road derby against Chelsea, Arsene Wenger doesn’t intend to appeal the impending three-game suspension for the £11.3m centre-back.
Chelsea’s star striker and antagonizing-genius Diego Costa got in Paulista’s face during an exchange, and after two prior incidents the referees issued Gabriel a red – while Costa got away clean.
The loss caps a hellish week that included a humiliating loss on the road in the Champions League to Dinamo Zagreb. During that match, Olivier Giroud received a red card as well.
Arsenal’s scoreless result was also the third time in the first six weeks of the season that they’ve been shut out. The loss also puts Arsenal in danger of being knocked out of the Top 4 this weekend with a winner of the Everton/Swansea match guaranteed to move ahead of them.
