Smith says ‘old’ Abraham won’t beat him: Brit confident of getting job done this time.
Smith suffered defeat in the first meeting between the pair back in September last year, but the controversy created by the judges’ scorecards ensured that they meet again on Saturday night.
The 32-year-old has insisted that last time he went into the fight believing he could win, however this time round he knows he can win and feels as though Abraham isn’t the feared fighter that he once was.
However, it will likely be a more difficult proposition this time round as Abraham looks better at the weight and will be fully prepared for the challenge that awaits him.
The reigning WBO super-middleweight champion may well have been guilty of underestimating his opponent the first time round, and so Smith will need to be at his best to defeat him this weekend.
Both men made the weight comfortably on Friday at the weigh-in in the Berlin Mall, and all that is left for them now is to go through the motions until they enter the ring.
British stars Josh Warrington and David Price feature on the bill at the O2 Arena, but all eyes will be on Smith to see whether or not he can take that world title back to England.
