The Kiwi pace pairing of Trent Boult and Tim Southee put the Australian batsman under all sorts of pressure in the opening stages, and it paid off after Aaron Finch was caught and bowled by Boult.
Finch departed the field for a duck, with the New Zealander’s clearly not feeling the after-effects of their poor batting performance.
New Zealand conjured up a modest total of 198 in its innings but have shown enough life to suggest its bowlers will put the Australian batsman under pressure under lights at the MCG.
Finch will be disappointed with his efforts, especially after he seemingly played himself back into form in his side’s semi-final win over India.
