With McCullum looking to go on the attack early on, Starc seized the opportunity with a lethal inswinging yorker that caught the Black Caps skipper off-guard.
McCullum’s wicket leaves his side at 1-1 in the opening stages of the game, with Kane Williamson now given to the role to settle New Zealand’s innings alongside quarter-final hero Martin Guptill.
Starc came into the tournament under pressure and out of form, however the NSW paceman has answered his critics during the World Cup and looks on track to give the Kiwi batsman plenty of trouble in Melbourne today.
