Newcastle is currently in 17th place in the Premier League standings, and they are tied with the 18th-place Hull City in points with 34.
West Brom started off the game with a goal 32 minutes into the match, but Newcastle responded shortly after with a goal of their own.
Approximately 41 minutes in, Newcastle found themselves in a set piece situation. Midfielder Ayoze Pérez encountered a wall of West Brom defenders, but he drove through it and scored an incredible goal.
The two clubs are currently at halftime, and Newcastle will look to defeat West Brom to ensure their stay in the Premier League for the 2015-16 season.
West Brom is hoping to move up to 12th place with a win, which will likely happen assuming Manchester United does not lose to Crystal Palace.
