The wicket-keeper batsman is hoping to play well enough to earn a Test place.
England batsman Jonny Bairstow is looking to impress the national selectors ahead of the two-match Test series with New Zealand this month, as he features for the Lions against the Black Caps.
Bairstow has been playing well for his County Championship side Yorkshire at the start of the 2013 season, scoring 186 in his last domestic match and is now putting a permanent five-day spot in his sights.
The 23-year-old filled in for the injured Kevin Pietersen during the tour against the Kiwis in February and March, but will face stiff competition from fellow youngsters Joe Root and James Taylor for a fixed top order position.
The Yorkshireman has played six Test matches for his country since making his debut against the West Indies in May 2012.
