A look at some of the best goals from the top European players this weekend
Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Arjen Robben of Bayern Munich were among the European stars to shine for their countries this weekend.
It was almost as if with the arrival of Gareth Bale the Los Blancos star had something to prove at Windsor Park, putting in a top class performance against Northern Ireland and scoring a hat-trick.
If both Bale and Ronaldo can keep up the goal-scoring form that they are currently enjoying, then it could be a successful first season for Carlo Ancelotti.
Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller scored the final goal in Germany’s 3-0 win against Austria.
Muller’s Bundesliga rival, Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski was Poland’s only scorer against Montenegro.
After four games in the Bundesliga it’s Lewandowski’s Dortmund who are top with four wins out of four. After slipping to a draw at SC Freiburg Bayern lie just two points behind them.
Arjen Robben was the second Munich man to shine, as the winger cut in from the right hand side and lashed a shot past Estonia keeper Pareiko in the second minute of Holland’s World Cup qualifier.
Jordi Alba was left with a straightforward finish as a clever ball from Barcelona team mate Cesc Fabregas picked the full-back out for Spain’s first goal against Finland.
Neymar was also among the goals for Brazil, as the Confederation Cup champions put six past Australia.
