Neither Sochaux nor Bastia could break the deadlock in this timid affair between two teams that had little to play for on the final day of the season.
Sochaux still had an outside shot of being relegated from the league, however, they knew barring a miracle that they would be safe, and that feeling was reflected in their performance, as they rarely threatened the Bastia goal.
The home side finished the season in 12th, and no doubt will be celebrating a fine season in Ligue 1, and will be hoping for the same again.
