Bavarians move another step closer to regaining their title.
Bundesliga champions elect Bayern Munich beat in form Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 on Saturday to maintain their enormous 20 point lead at the top of the German standings.
The Bavarian giants, who have been drawn to face Serie A title holders in the quarter-finals of the Champions League next month, took the lead through Mario Gomez, only for the visitors to draw level thanks to Simon Rolfes’s 75th-minute strike.
However, the hosts took all three points when Philipp Wollscheid got a touch on Bastian Schweinsteiger’s free kick to score a cruel own goal.
