Bavarians move another step closer to regaining the Bundesliga title.
Runaway Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich took full advantage of defeats by champions Borussia Dortmund and high flying Bayer Leverkusen to further extend their massive lead at the top of the German standings to 20 points on Saturday following a 3-2 win over Fortuna Duesseldorf.
The underdogs actually took a shock lead after 16 minutes against the Bavarian giants thanks to Mathis Bolly’s close range finish, only for Thomas Mueller to equalise.
Andreas Lamberts then restored Duesseldorf’s surprise advantage, but again Bayern drew level through Franck Ribery and then won the game with Jerome Boateng’s late strike – showing the true signs of champions.
