Bavarians continue their march towards the German title.
Runaway Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich thrashed Werder Bremen 6-1 on Saturday.
It was a special day for Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes who celebrated his 1000th Bundesliga match as a coach and player.
And his side, as they have been all season, were in dominant mood at home again Werder Bremen.
Ajen Robben, who has been on the bench for much of this season, started the match and opened the scoring in 25th minute – and then provided the second for Javi Martinez, four minutes later.
Any hope Bremen had of getting back in the game slipped away when Sebastian Prodl was sent off in the 44th minute.
It went from bad to worse for Bremen when Theo Gebre Selassie turned the ball into his own net.
Mario Gomez has been in the shadow of Croatian Mario Mandzukic this season, but he tapped in to make it 4-0.
Kevin de Bruyne scored a consolation goal before a beautifully composed finish from Ribery made it 5-1.
Gomez scored the 6th and Munich march on towards the title and in this kind of form, you’d be a brave man to back against them in the Champions League too.
