Despite once being touted as a top five pick, the defensive end is happy to be part of the Colts setup.
Florida State standout Bjoern Werner spoke of his excitement at being drafted by the Indianapolis Colts with the 24th overall pick in the NFL Draft, and is looking to impress his new team straight away
The defensive end was at one point considered one of the top players in the draft, however a sub-par combine saw his stock take a fall, yet at pick 24, the Colts will be looking at the tape for the 22-year old and be wondering how they were able to draft the player without trading up.
Despite a need to improve at cornerback, Werner’s potential to get to the Quarterback quickly will allow some breathing room for the corners to stick with their man, as Werner has the capability to force QB’s into bad throws and quick decisions due to his imposing speed and size.
