The Superclasico between Argentine giants Boca Juniors and River Plate is usually a tempestuous affair, and the meeting between the two super powers on Thursday night was no different.

The meeting between the two came in the second leg of the semi-final of the Copa Libertadores, but proceedings were forced to be put on hold thanks to the actions of one bad seed of a fan.
The unknown man is believed to have pepper sprayed the players while they were in the tunnel, thus causing a huge incident that forced play to be halted.
With the score poised at 0-0 on the night (but with River 1-0 up on aggregate) one angry Boca fan thought he’d do his team a favour at half time by gassing the River players with pepper spray.
A number of players needed medical attention on the pitch, with several seen to be crying and struggling to breathe.
As it stands, there is yet to be a decision on whether the game will be seen out or what kind of punishment Boca will face.
